In the higher grades, the focus is on enhancing attention span, improving listening, language, visual, hand-eye coordination, and other fundamental skills.
Boost Up is a program that focuses on fine and gross motor activities used to help stimulate the brain stem for learning. It involves physical activities, classroom activities, and playground activities.
How does it work?
Boost Up focuses on the building of strength in the brain stem. This is where
readiness skills develop. One example of this would be the ability of the eyes
to converge (focus) on one image. Development of this unconscious skill lead to
a child no longer skipping words when reading.
What does it involve?
Boost Up involves having the children participate in fun, motivational
activities. Spinning, jump roping, hand-eye coordination games, flip flops,
balancing, and rhythmic sequences are just a few of the activities held in the
gym.
Drink lots of water!!! It "wakes up" the brain!!!
The brain stem is "fired up" during Boost Up. Thus, these activities can help to change the rate of academic growth by making learning more productive. These findings are based on over 20 years of brain research.

AVE PROGRAM
AVE (Audio-Visual Entrainment) is another piece of Boost-Up that
brings GBR from a SMART school to a SMARTER school. AVE is basically a
program of light and sound-light pulsates through goggles while classical music,
as well as rhythmic beats or tones are heard through headsets. These 20
minute sessions assist the brain to obtain useful patterns and operate more
efficiently. AVE is beneficial for people who are inattentive, impulsive
(AD/HD), behaviorally challenged, have specific learning disabilities, or other
issues such as sleep problems, teeth grinding, chronic pain, headaches, or
migraines. Only students with parent permission, upon teacher
recommendation, will be allowed to use AVE.

Independent reading program in which students read books, of their choice, at their reading level. Computerized assessment test students' reading comprehension of each book. The school recognizes students at different levels throughout their years a GBR.
