Grandparents part 2!
Goodness gracious, GBR is blessed with some truly wonderful grandparents! This morning, we hosted 'Goodies for Grandparents' at the Book Fair, and it was heartwarming to see so many grandparents enjoying treats with their grandkids and exploring the book fair. Let's see if the moms will maintain their lead in sales, or if the grandparents will surpass them! Thank you all for supporting GBR's love of reading and our Book Fair!

Donuts for Dads, part 2! So many amazing Dads showed up today that we needed to make another post!! Thank you to all the dads that were able to attend Donuts for Dads this morning!! What a great turnout! But the big question is...did they top the sales the moms made yesterday? We can't wait to find out! Happy Earth Day! Celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up your neighborhood or a local park. Enjoy the fresh air today!
Mrs. Wilson's third-grade class is full of scientists this morning as they embark on a mystery science challenge! Today's task: figuring out how to open a locked door using just a magnet. With their thinking caps securely fastened, these hardworking students first constructed their own locked door using the materials at hand and then dove into the mystery of magnetism. We can't wait to see what they discover about the power of magnets!

These 2 KGL learners had fun rolling 2 dice and adding the numbers up. If they had a colored cube placed on that number on their “Clear the Board” game board, they could remove 1 cube from that number. The first person to remove all 10 colored cubes from their game board is the winner!! This is a great fun way to practice basic addition, taking turns, being patient, and teamwork.
Miss Bormann's second-grade class is nearing the completion of their journey through Charlotte's Web. While some students focused on crafting thoughtful responses to questions, ensuring they not only answered fully but also connected their responses back to the original question, all students diligently delved into expanding their vocabulary through the book. Meanwhile, others dedicated their time to weaving their own intricate webs. Their task was to select a single word that best encapsulated a character from the book, then construct a paragraph vividly describing that character. We are eagerly anticipating the unveiling of their exquisite webs adorned with the uplifting words chosen to portray the myriad characters in Charlotte's Web!

This morning, Mrs. Adrian was working with a small group of our ELL students. Two students in particular were diligently crafting beautiful Mother's Day cards. They are writing sentences in English to describe their moms' best qualities and then translating them into Spanish. We can't wait to see the heartfelt cards these boys create for their moms.
