The begindergarten class had a wonderful time this morning with Mrs. Dodd as they started the month of May for calendar time! They practiced their new poem of the month, the weather, positional words, the day of the week, and saying good morning to their friends. We love seeing all the growth these little learners have made this year and continue to grow each day. Way to go BK!
Today, Mrs. Vogl's first graders are tackling soft C and G. The class is given a word, and they work on the syllables and sounds in the word, breaking down the soft C and G using sound boxes. Along with these words, they also had a chance to review the many jobs an 'e' has in words. Way to go, Mrs. Vogl's class!
Miss Hart's Kindergarten class wished Mr. Gubbrud a Happy School Principal's Day!! Together they wrote a poem and made a sign to present to him. We hope you are having a great School Principal's Day Mr. Gubbrud!!
This morning, GBR started the day off with some beautiful music by DWU. Students got to hear from the Highlanders' top singing choir and listen to members of the DWU Band. What a wonderful start to the day! Thank you DWU for playing for us today!
Dont forget to send food item's to help GBR wrap up National Volunteer Month (April)! The GBR student council will be sponsoring a food drive for the Mitchell High School Food Pantry! We will be collecting items throughout the week of April 29-May 3.

KGL's scientists are currently working on a planet unit to be followed by a study of butterflies. Their caterpillars have arrived and they are recording their observations in a butterfly journal. The beautiful butterflies are scheduled to be released on May 16th - the last day of school!!
Mrs. Duffy & Mrs. Elias are teaming up to have their fifth graders build a city! Today, for math class, they're at the beginning stages of constructing a city using 3-D shapes. The students will begin by calculating the surface area of their shapes and then move on to determine the volume. What a fun and creative way for these students to master their understanding of volume!
