“The heart, like the mind, has a memory. And in it are kept the most precious keepsakes.” ― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Welcome to Longfellow Elementary, named after American poet and educator Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. We are home to a warm and caring staff that creates lifetime memories and precious keepsakes for approximately 380 children. Our goal is to build positive working relationships amongst students, staff, parents, and the community. As a team, we can educate and prepare our children to succeed in this ever-changing world.

Longfellow has a progressive, strong, and supportive PTO that promotes many student and family-based activities throughout the school year. Families are strongly valued and encouraged to become engaged in their children's learning at home and at school. Please visit our website regularly to see up-and-coming family activities.

As a Longfellow Elementary alumnus, I take pride in working together to lead our students on the path to success.  I not only attended kindergarten through fifth grade at Longfellow Elementary but it is also where I completed my student teaching practicum. I look forward to returning to my elementary school to help provide the same positive learning experiences that I received.  In this ever-changing world, it is nice to know that one constant remains the same: Longfellow’s warm and caring staff continues to create a family-based learning environment where true partnerships are the epitome of excellent educational opportunities.

Again, welcome to Longfellow Elementary. Please contact us at (605) 995-3092 with any questions.
