On Tuesday, Ashley Armstrong, Ph.D. from the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) shared with students BK-5 about "A Most Magnificent Machine." In the presentation students were asked to consider the importance of perseverance, identify what to do when things get hard, and discuss how to learn from mistakes as the story of the search for dark matter is shared. For more information, you can check out this link: https://sanfordlab.org/educator-resource/most-magnificent-machine It was so fun to see our learners engaged in the presentation, listening to the big ideas presented (Dark matter? Whoa!), and then building towers as a hands-on challenge!
