Mrs. Grabenstein's room hosted story time with their LifeQuest friends today! #GBR🏹

On Tuesday, Ashley Armstrong, Ph.D. from the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) shared with students BK-5 about "A Most Magnificent Machine." In the presentation students were asked to consider the importance of perseverance, identify what to do when things get hard, and discuss how to learn from mistakes as the story of the search for dark matter is shared.
For more information, you can check out this link: https://sanfordlab.org/educator-resource/most-magnificent-machine
It was so fun to see our learners engaged in the presentation, listening to the big ideas presented (Dark matter? Whoa!), and then building towers as a hands-on challenge!

The Random Acts of Kindness Week challenge for Wednesday, February 15 is to write a note to someone to let them know you appreciate them.
The words we choose to use are very powerful. You can really fuel someone's ride by letting them know you appreciate them through a note.
We can't wait to see you so many lifted up tomorrow by the powerful words of our staff and students!
Encourage your learner to create some notes tonight to bring to school tomorrow to start the day in a kind way.

Here are more of our One School One Book trivia winners! Keep bringing in those trivia answers each morning to win a prize! #GBR🏹

Student Council Fundraiser
The student council will be selling foil wrapped chocolate roses for $3.00 a piece in preparation for Valentine’s Day. You can choose from 1 of 3 notes to go with your rose: I’m Grateful for You!, I Appreciate You!, or You’re the Best! Student council members will be taking orders starting Monday February 6. They will be on the stage each morning that week before school until they run out of roses. They will then deliver your rose and note to the person you designate on the card on Valentine’s Day. It must be a student or staff member at GBR for them to deliver to.
