Due to the MHS girl's basket ball team going to the state tournament this week, we will not have our school store open this Friday, 3/8/24. Instead, we will have it on Wednesday, 3/13/24. Good luck to our very own, Miss Mertens, who coaches, and the rest of the Kernel Girls Basketball!!

Tomorrow is PJ Day in honor or Read Across America Week. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Remember that we will still go outside, have PE, etc., so keep that in mind when choosing clothing for the day.

Festival Choir was music to our ears!

You will usually find Mr. Damon (custodian/maintenance) in the hallways, keeping our 1st floor clean and tiddy. This morning, the kids found him on the playground and challenged him to a game of soccer.

Spring School Pictures are coming up THIS WEDENSDAY, March 6th. Photos will only be taken if photo packet and payment is returned. Please alert the office or teacher if you intend on having photos taken that day.

The Mitchell School District celebrated their district Teachers of the Year and Classified Staff of the Year on Wednesday, February 28th at the Sherman Center on the campus of Dakota Wesleyan. Angela Putnam was chosen as District Classified Staff of the Year and Molly Becker was chosen as District Teacher of the Year. What a BEAUTIFUL day we had today! Almost 70 degrees on February 26th???? Many of our teachers took advantage of the weather had their class spend extra time outdoors doing a math walk or read-a-loud on the lawn. Tomorrow will snap us all back to normal with much cooler weather and the return of South Dakota wind. We may even see some flakes of snow. Please send your children in proper coats as we expect to go outside for recess.
